Bouvier House / On April 9, 2010, Alan Jaffe and Elise Vider reported for Plan Philly that "a preservation victory was declared with the unanimous approval of plans to restore the historic and long-derelict Bouvier Building in Old City." We have discovered that settlement occurred in June. We don't yet know when construction will begin. For more details from the original article (April 17, 2010), go to

Pier 53 (at Washington Avenue) Construction has begun, clearing the area and the trail. As a result of the weather, the plantings will occur later in the season. This will give them a few months to develop strong roots before they have the task of growing leaves in the spring. Most of the construction should be completed by mid-October.

Race Street Pier / Divers doing underwater work; most of the work goes on under the water right now. The surface is cleared, patched and leveled. The report is that they are on-schedule.

135 N. Third (Samuel Machinery) still remains a mystery. The deed is still in Henry Nemrod's name, but that doesn't mean that it didn't sell at auction since it takes a while to get the registration of the deed changed, even if it has sold. If anyone has further information, we'd be very pleased to hear it!
