Recycling: Do’s and Don’ts

Do recycle

Newspapers

Food and drink cans

Soda and water bottles (remove caps & put the caps in the trash)

Detergent bottles

Milk jugs (remove caps & put the caps in the trash)

Jars

Empty aerosol cans

Paint cans (make sure the paint inside is dry)

Junk mail, including envelopes with plastic windows

Computer paper

Phone books and Magazines

Wrapping paper, but none with foil

Pizza boxes, clean – and without the pizza

Cereal, cracker, and other boxes

Soda cartons

If you can tear the package, it’s likely recyclable

Other

#1 and #2 plastics ( remove bottle caps and put in the trash)

Do NOT recycle

Ceramics

Wax-coated milk or juice cartons

#3 through #7 plastics ( this may change in the near future)
